Justice William Ouko interviewed for Judge of Supreme Court

The search for the next judge of the supreme court has seen the president of the court of appeal – Justice William Ouko, appear before the 9-members of the Judicial Service Commission.

In his plea and while responding to acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu, he stated the law he advocates should be changed in the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court.

Among the list that includes:

Determining presidential election disputes, hearing appeals from the court of appeal, other courts and the tribunal as well as to give advisory opinion.  

He responded to claims that the current jurisprudence from the Supreme court is contradictory and unnecessary, stating firmly that the allegations are just perceptions. 

Only 7 of the 9 applicants will sit in the interviews.

The process is to replace retired judge Jacktone Ojwang’.
