Botswana President tightens curfew hours after vaccine depletion

Botswana President Mokgweetsi Masisi has moved the country’s night curfew to start at 10pm from the earlier start time of 4am after depletion of vaccines in inoculation centres.

According to data from the health ministry, the country has so far vaccinated 17,808 people.

The government in Botswana has stopped vaccination in some regions saying doses allocated to them have been depleted.

People in those regions have been advised to wait for the next shipment.

According to the ministry of health, the next vaccine shipment is expected in a vague number of weeks.

However Botswana’s ministry of health is investigating the death of two people who had been given doses of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine to see if there is any link.
