MPs Osoro and Malala arrested after Submitting to DCI In Kisii and Kakamega

March, 8th, 2021 Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala and South Mugirango Member of Parliament Silvanus Osoro, have surrendered to police over the by-election chaos witnessed in various parts of the country.

Osoro who appeared before the Kisii Divisional Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters was accompanied by his lawyers Alice Wahome, Gladys Shollei and Wilkins Ochoki.

Senator Malala surrendered to police at the Kakamega DCI offices following summons over Matungu by-election chaos.

This comes at a time when the National Cohesion and Integration Commission has summoned 10 politicians for causing political chaos in the recently concluded parliamentary and ward by-elections.

Among those summoned include; Homa Bay county woman rep Gladys Wanga, Kakamega senator Cleophas Malala,nominated senator Millicent Omanga, Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa, Msambweni’s Faizal Bader, John Waluke of Sirisia, Fred Kapondi of Mt Elgon, Benjamin Washiali of Mumias East, Ong’ondo Were of Kasipul and Chris Wamalwa of Kiminini.

NCIC says it will ensure those accused of hate and ethnic contempt are put out of the leadership positions to prevent them from running again.
