Matungu and Kabuchai voters go to the polls to elect new MPs

Polling stations in Kabuchai and Matungu by elections are open as voters go to elect their new MPs in their respective constituencies. 

Voting is also underway in Kiamokama in Kisii, Huruma in Eldoret, Kitise Kithuki in Makueni and London in Nakuru as locals vote for new MCAs. Hells gate ward has also opened polls

IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati has assured of free and fair elections. 

IEBC has also confirmed that the allegations raised by ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi on a county official selected to conduct elections has been handled.

Musalia had raised the issue of the county official saying he could be bias after Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya campaigned for the ODM candidate David Were. 

Chebukati confirmed that the official has stepped down from the by election responsibility .
