Machakos Governor urges government to increase funds free education to University level

Feb, 26th 2021 – Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader Alfred Mutua has urged the government to increase funds to cater for free education from primary level to university.

Speaking in Tala sub county where he launched a countrywide  bursary fund worth 36 Million shillings, the Machakos governor said that the government programme of free education leaves out significant aspects such as provision of reading materials as well as physical infrastructure.

He also said, the government should employ more teachers and pay them well. He also added that the working environment for the teachers is not conducive.

On political leaders who are spreading messages of hatred which could lead to war, Mutua called on the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) agency to step in. He is urging them to document and ban the individuals from contesting in the coming elections.

He has urged leaders to preach peace and sell their ideas to Kenyans without spreading hatred.

Similartly, Mutua dismissed information going round on social media yesterday of photos of him and UDA candidate Urbanus Muthama as propaganda.

Contrary to the information going round, Mutua said that he was having coffee when the leaders joined him at his table. He adds that there are some people who walked in with the leaders taking photos of them, he did not stop them.

He adds that he is for peace and leaders should stop resorting to childish ways.
