Businessman Jimmy Wanjigi is tonight a free man after he was released on a 10 million shillings bond and backed with a restraining order preventing investigative agencies from instituting any criminal charges or prosecuting Businessman Jimi Wanjigi with respect to any firearms he owns.

Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi directed Wanjigi to deposit his passport in court pending the ruling to be delivered on his changed  on September 12

Separately High Court Justice Bahati Mwamuye said if any charges or criminal proceedings arising from or related to the firearms certificate no 9522 have been instituted, the same stands as suspended pending hearing and determination of an application filed by Wanjigi today.

Speaking to the press outside the courtrooms after the verdicts, Wanjigi has blamed the Ruto administration of the several charged leveled against him terming them baseless and diversionary to the issues he is raising against president WIlliam Ruto

The judge at the same time issued an order stopping the Firearm License Board from revoking Jimi Wanjigi’s firearm certificate no 9522.

The Judge said the Board, DPP and DCI who are named as respondents in the case should not interfere.

This is after Wanjigi, through his legal team led by Senior Counsel Paul Muite, Kalonzo Musyoka, and Willis Otieno, applied to have the plea taken deferred, claiming their client’s rights had been violated.
