Nairobi’s Kariobangi North MCA Joel Munuve died due to a blood clot in his lungs, a condition referred to as pulmonary embolism.
An autopsy conducted at the Lee Funeral Home by Chief Government Pathologist Dr Johansen Oduor has revealed
According to Oduor, the clot began in a vein in his left leg, travelled to the lungs and blocked a key artery.
Munuve’s family Lawyer Danstan Omari has confirmed the involvement of several parties in unearthing the circumstances that led to the death of the lawmaker with each party represented by a pathologist and over 15 forensic officers from the DCI.
“The team will be led by Johansen Oduor, with six other pathologists appointed by the family, the hospital where he was pronounced dead, the county assembly of Nairobi, the Nairobi County Office, and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino”, Omari revealed.

The vocal MCA lost his life on Tuesday, in unforeseen circumstances.
Reports alleged that Muvune had been rushed to the hospital after he collapsed while undertaking his normal duties at his ward office in Nairobi.
“Death is a very serious thing, and it is not something we can play with or politicise. He was very firm and passionate about the issues he believed in. But what we want to allay this political speculation is a full investigation into what happened,” he further stated
