Global sportswear giant adidas Originals has made its footprints in Kenya by setting a store at the Westgate Mall in Westlands Nairobi.
Brought to life by WAMA International Group, with over 30 stores across the region, the opening of the Nairobi store marks a significant milestone not just for adidas, but for Nairobi’s fast-evolving streetwear scene.
The store launch on April 4th on the first floor of Westgate Mall was on a cultural explosion with a target of Kenyan youth
But this is more than just a store opening. It’s part of adidas’ larger strategy to deepen its footprint in Africa, tailor experiences to local cultures, and celebrate the creativity of the continent. As Brett Burgess, Senior Director Africa Export at adidas EM South put it,
“It has been a great experience to partner up with the WAMA group and bring the first Originals standalone store to Nairobi. We are committed to growing our brand presence in Africa and positively contributing to the communities we operate in.”
Ismael Elmahdy, Head of Retail at WAMA International Group, echoed the excitement: “We are thrilled to launch our first adidas Originals store in East Africa.”
According to Adidas the launch of the store is not just a brand entering a market but also It’s a celebration of African identity, youth culture, and street style all woven into the fabric of a global brand with a legacy of pushing boundaries.
