Cartoonist and social media influencer Kibet Bull has been found alive after being missing for two weeks. According to a statement on his X account, Kibet was abandoned by his abductors in Luanda Constituency, Vihiga County, early Sunday morning, between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m.
His family confirmed his safe return, stating that he was already on his way home.
Kibet’s release came hours after four other abductees were also found alive in different parts of the country. Among them were 24-year-old Billy Mwangi, 22-year-old Peter Muteti, and Kibet’s brother Ronny Kiplagat, along with Bernard Kavuli.
Muteti was found in Nairobi’s CBD and reunited with his family, while Mwangi was reportedly dropped in Nyeri County before reuniting with his family in Embu. Kavuli presented himself at Moi’s Bridge Police Station, while Kiplagat was left in Machakos County.
The National Police Service (NPS) spokesperson, Resila Onyango, confirmed the developments, assuring Kenyans that investigations into the abductions were ongoing.
“Bernard Kavuli Musyimi who was reported missing at Ngong’ Police Station presented himself at Moi’s Bridge Police Station today and is assisting the investigators with further information,” the police spokesperson revealed.
“Following media reports that Billy Wanyiri Mwangi, Peter Muteti, and Rony Kiplagat who were reported missing in Embu Police Station, Kabete Police Statio,n and Thogoto Police Post respectively have reunited with their respective families,” Resila added.
She reiterated the Service’s commitment to supporting the victims and uncovering the circumstances surrounding their disappearances.
