Kawira Mwangaza Returns, Vows Decade of Leadership After Court Halts Impeachment

Embattled Meru Governor Kawira Mwangaza is back in her office after  dramatic impeachment proceedings by the senate that has since been suspended by the court saying she will run the Meru county  for10 years without a break.

Kabati kabati kaende kaende #MbeuyaNgai #KumiBilaBreak  So help me God,” she wrote on her official Facebook page.

This comes just a day after the High Court gave her a reprieve with Justice Bahati Mwamuye restraining the Speaker of the Senate Amason Kingi from publishing in the Kenya Gazette Notice a declaration of a vacancy in the office of the Governor of Meru County.

Mwangaza has been accusing  big wigs in the Meru county  of orchestrating her impeachments with which she has survived twice within two years since she clinched the county boss seat.

Following her reprieve yesterday Mwangaza tweeted that he serves a “Merciful God,” as parties in the case file submission highlighting the procedure for her impeachment on or before the 1st of September

“Merciful God,” the Meru governor posted on social media soon after Mwamuye delivered the ruling.

A total of 40 out of 69 members of the Meru County Assembly voted to impeach for the third time since her swearing-in.

Senators voted to send her home based on three charges in which she was found guilty.
