Former Prime minister Raila odinga has hinted at the sacking of the all the principal secretaries to weed out corruption in the Kenya Kwanza government
According Odinga who was speaking at the burial of the father of the exiled former IEBC commissioner Irene Masit, the sacking of the PSs was also part of his deal with President Ruto to form the broad based government.
”Ata uliagana na rais kuwa atawafuta makatibu wote ili kuondoa ufisadi katika serikali. Hao makatibu wote ni wachafu kabisa,” Odinga said.
Odinga has accused the accounting officers of corruption that were among the issues that precipitated the deadly anti government protests that according to the human rights commission KNCHR claimed the lives of up to 66 youth.
On Thursday, July 11, President William Ruto fired 20 of his Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) after bowing to pressure from anti-government protests.
On Monday, DAP-K party leader Eugene Wamalwa criticized the opposition for what he termed as betrayal, claiming that the ODM’s actions threaten democracy. Earlier, Martha Karua’s Narc Kenya party formally notified the coalition’s governing council of its withdrawal.
