Homa Bay Town member of Parliament Peter Kaluma has urged President William Ruto to consider a list of names fronted by Azimio Leader Raila Odinga in his final list of cabinet nominees.
Speaking during Wednesday afternoon Parliament sitting, Kaluma alluded that Odinga has fronted names from his Azimio brigade for Ruto’s pick in the party’s quest to be part of the broad based government.
“Honorable Speaker last week as members of ODM party and independent parties of Azimio also [we] sat and said the government of Kenya belongs to all of us,” he remarked.
“And we resolved, am saying this because we don’t want some confusion am seeing saying if members of the ODM party are appointed to the government they are going on their own, we met and resolved so,” he said.
This coming hours to a statement by the ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna dismissing reports that ODM was folding to form the govt of national unity with the kenya kwanza regime
ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna clarified that the party has no political agreements with the current regime and any ODM member joining Ruto’s cabinet will be doing that without the approval and support of the party.
Sifuna emphasised the party’s commitment to its principles and the fight for a better Kenya, countering narratives suggesting ODM’s desperation to join the government.
