Chief Justice Martha Koome will today lead Judicial service commissioner, NCAJ members, Judges, Judicial officers, staff and stakeholders of the justice sector in mourning the late Makadara principal magistrate Monica Kivuti who died in the line of duty
Koome will in the company of the judiciary staffers hold the mourning and remembrance event at the Makadara Law Courts as Each court station across the country will hold a similar event.
This follows a raft of measures to secure its officers and directed that going forward, services will no longer be rendered in make-shift structures as like the one Kivuti was on when she was shot.
In a statement, Chief Justice Martha Koome said the decision was made to guarantee judicial officers their safety and security adding that the third arm of govt is currently engaging “robustly” with other relevant state agencies and stakeholders on long-term measures to ensure the safety and security of our court premises for Judges, Judicial Officers, Judiciary Staff, and Courts.
The makadara law court will remain closed as renivation works takes place but other courts will remain operations
