The Korea Africa summit has kicked off and has been attended by a host of African leaders who arrived in the country beginning Sunday night and Monday Morning, slated for June 4th-5th, 2024.
This edition’s slogan is The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity, with various participators including Delegations from African countries and related international organizations, key figures from Korean and international business communities, academia, civil society groups, press and other important stakeholders.
On Tuesday, June 4, the 2024 Korea-Africa Summit will take place in Ilsan where African Heads of delegations and Heads of Africa-related international organizations are set to participate.
Thereafter, On Wednesday, June 5, the 2024 Korea-Africa Business Summit will take place in Seoul where Heads of State or Government and business leaders of Korea and Africa set to jointly participate.
The summit is expected to help build stronger relations between South Korea and Africa and on their strengths to foster growth , tackle global challenges and to reinforce solidarity for peace and security.
Kenyan president William Ruto thrugh his X Account stated,”We value our strong relations with South Korea, which continues to make a significant contribution to Kenya’s development, especially in technology. The release of $485 million concessional development funding, including $238 million for the Konza Digital Media City Project, will bolster our digital ecosystem, expanding opportunities for our youth in the creative economy”.
President Ruto has also held bilateral talks with Korea’s president Yun Suk Yeol ,with emphasis to enhance cooperation, at the Korea International Exhibition Centre in Goyang in the outskirts of the capital Seoul.
