Nassir however hinted at attending the Muguka conference convened by President William Ruto, even as the government pledges over KSh500 million in the next fiscal year for value addition of the drug, the county boss asserting that his stance on the drug will resound in the meeting

“We don’t want a product to be forced on our people. Statistics show that this product is hurting our people. We cannot prioritise money over a whole generation,” he said.
The Orange Democratic Movement party has chimed in the Muguka debate and criticized the stand taken by the President saying it will encourage the use of the addictive stimulant.
In a statement the party noted that It is unfortunate that the Ruto administration has pledged public funds to ensure youth have unrestricted access to Muguka essentially accusing it of double speak even as it champions for a sober country,
Kilifi and Mombasa and Taita Taveta counties slapped a ban on the stimulant plant by the national govt termed the county level bans as null and void
