Kindiki tells drug barons ‘time is over’ in coastal cities

Interior and national Administration cabinet secretary Prof Kithure Kindiki has yet again put drug barons in the coastal city on notice saying their days are over.

While extending his crackdown on illicit brew, drug and substance abuse  in the region during his coastal tour this morning, Kindiki has warned barons using small boats to smuggle the drugs through the Indian ocean.

The Cabinet secretary has noted that the the govt will be deploy more coastguards to work in tandem with the navy in securing the sea borders 

According to Kindiki the drugs smugglers have been supplying the market with intoxicants that has resulted to the deaths of Kenyans as compared to terrorisms

This he said on Wednesday in Kwale County as he inspected construction of the Samburu Sub-County Headquarters which he says will aid officers execute their mandate effectively.

He said that the facility will also bolster access to government services to members of the public.

In recent weeks, amid heightened vigilance on the consumption of illicit liquor and drug substances in the country, CS Kindiki has said that about 18,000 bars and liquor joints have been closed down.
