President Ruto Issues Stern Warning To CSs On Corruption

President William Ruto has issued a stern warning  to his Cabinet, emphasizing  zero-tolerance on corruption within his administration.

Speaking at the conclusion of a three-day government retreat in Naivasha on Wednesday, Ruto said that if any member of his Cabinet is implicated in a corruption scandal, they will be held solely responsible for their alleged actions.

The President emphasized the importance of accountability and warned against any form of corruption within his government.

“Each one of you here has my number. Nobody should come to you threatening you or telling you that the President has sent me…he is my brother…my cousin or my relative. On corruption it will not be business as usual, we are going to be firm,” said Ruto.

In addition President Ruto directed investigative agencies tasked with tackling corruption to carry out their duties diligently. He called for a thorough investigation, leaving no stone unturned to ensure prudence in the utilization of public resources.

“There is no room or space in my government to engage in corruption…we shall get hold of you and you will face the consequences. When we fail, we fail together. When we succeed we do it together. We must put our hands together,” he said.

The President’s remarks come at a time when the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) is probing several government agencies, with prominent government officials under scrutiny for alleged corruption and misuse of power.
