President Ruto Oversees Exams Kick-Off as final KCPE starts countrywide

President William Ruto has sent best wishes to over 3.5 million students sitting for the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education candidates and  KPSE examinations today.

Speaking in Kikuyu township Primary this morning in Kiambu county The president has conveyed his support and encouragement to the candidates, emphasizing the significance of this evaluation in their academic journey.

President Ruto has assured the students that the government has created a conducive environment to ensure a seamless transition into the next education levels.

“I see you are ready,” he said as he oversaw the exams kick-off.

“To all candidates who are taking this exam today, I wish you all the best and success in these exams. As you go into the exam room, know that you are not alone, so be confident, do your best, and carry out the exams knowing that we have an opportunity for every child to progress their education into the next level.”

The head of state also prayed for the students as he urged to put their best foot forward as they undertake the national exams.

“I want you to make us proud, you are the wealth of our nation, the future of our country and we have placed education as our priority. You are the biggest asset,” he said. 

President Ruto was accompanied by Education CS Ezekiel Machogu, Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi, and National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah.

On the other hand, Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi made an appearance at St George’s Primary School, Nairobi, to preside over the KCPE and KPSEA exams which start today.

Over 1.2 Million candidates are set to Write Mathematics, English and Composition papers for their Kenya Certificate and Primary Education examinations to mark the end of the 8-4-4 system in the primary level.

At the same time, 1.5 million learners are set to sit their KPSEA exams in over  2,019 examination centers across the country.

The ministry of Interior has said it had deployed over 6000 officers to all the 10,000 examination centers to re-enforce security across the country.

The ministry has also beefed up security in the bandit torn North and rift regions.
