Homa Bay, Narok and Trans Nzoia counties are the most improved in terms of health provision in the devolved units.
The study by Infotrak Research Consulting puts Homa Bay County as the most improved devolved unit in provision of Health services amongst the 47 counties followed by Mombasa, Murang’a, Kirinyaga and Narok counties respectively.

The ranking was majorly based on the counties’ investment in the health infrastructure.
“The most improved County, Homa Bay, embraked on a comprehensive refurbishment of the Homa Bay Level 5 hospital constructed by new health facilities, and restored essential drug supply to facilities across the country,” the report indicates.
“Another improved county, Mombasa has constructed new facilities in Miritini and Likoni and also streamlined services across the county.”
The survey conducted between July and August also had Homa Bay topping the most improved counties in the category of trade and tourism – another devolved function.
