The National Dialogue Committee has filed its responses in a case where three men have challenged the ongoing bi-partisan talks.
In an affidavit by Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, who co-heads the delegation says that the petition is speculative, incompetent and unmerited which seeks to disrupt an ongoing parliamentary process and prohibit parliament from discharging its constitutional mandate.
Kalonzo, dismissed the allegations that the committee is misusing public funds, arguing that no audit has been provided by the petitioners to demonstrate misuse or wastage of any public funds and resources as alleged.
In the case filed on September 29, three petitioners moved to court to challenge the ongoing bi-partisan talks being undertaken by the NDC, claiming that the entire process is unconstitutional adding that the dialogue process is majorly dominated by the political elite who want to push for constitutional reforms to satisfy their personal political interests.
This as the The National Dialogue Committee is retreating to Naivasha to write its report to parliament and the two political nemesis Raila Odinga and president William Ruto.
The committee was granted 30 more days by parliament last week to finalize on its mandate that is set to define the political atmosphere for the country following a protracted push and pull between the govt and the opposition precipitating anti tax protests.
Speaking on Sunday during a church service in Kajiado, Azimio la Umoja principles warned against digressing from the main agenda of the talks being the cost of living to other non issues.
