“We are not forcing you to join UDA”, President Ruto says

Affiliated Parties signing pact of joining Kenya Kwanza during the 2027 campaign period

President William Ruto has clarified that no Kenya Kwanza affiliated parties will be forced to join the ruling United Democratic Alliance.

Speaking during his maiden UDA national governing council as president , Ruto has said the party will deliberate if those who wish to join will be accepted in the party.

“They are those who will decide to fold and join us but they are others who will decide on how we will associate with them. We will not be dictators and tell them this and that is how we will relate,” President Ruto said during the Party’s National Governing Council.

President Ruto has also noted that the party elections will be rigorous, free fair urging any member who wishes to get an elective post to do thorough grassroots mobilization.

Malala had early this year told politicians holding senior government positions in the Kenya Kwanza government to dissolve their parties and join President William Ruto’s party.

“All we can tell them is that is good if they join us but we can’t say that it’s a must. We want the permit of the National Delegates Conference to talk with them so that we convince them to join us and be one strong national political party,” said Ruto.

The UDA Party Leader expressed that ahead of the 2027 general poll his herculean task within the party will be wooing political outfits to merge with his party.

“Those who have issues with the merger we will see how we will associate with them,”Ruto noted.
