Azimio, Kenya Kwanza Dialogue Teams Sign Framework Agreement

Kenya Kwanza and Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition have agreed on the content of the dialogue after the technical committee submitted their report .

The signing of the document took place on Wednesday at the Bomas of Kenya,Among the contents of the dialogue agreed include article 43 of the constitution on the cost of living  ,implementation of the two third gender rule and restructuring of the IEBC. 

Others are boundaries de-limitation, audit of the 2022 general election and implementing the Senate oversight fund. 

The committee, led by Azimio delegation leader Kalonzo Musyoka and his Kenya Kwanza counterpart Kimani Ichung’wah, has 60 days to deliberate and come up with a report and or including bills initiating a review of various pieces of laws.

The committee stated that they’re now ready to hit the road running and find solutions to political issues bedeviling the country which often result in strife after the election.

“We continue to reiterate that this is serious national work. If ever there was a moment this country should come together, it is now and we are determined as a team to make sure that happens,” Kalonzo said.

“We tell Kenyans to ignore the naysayers, there will always be those who feel threatened for whatever reason by something so illustrious cause this is wonderful work…we have agreed on the work plan, the dates and everything. A lot more work remains to be done.”

The signing of the framework document comes a day after the Senate unanimously approved the establishment of the National Dialogue Committee to pave way for the team to begin its work.
