Nancy Kigunzu alias Mathe wa Ngara will remain in Police custody for five more days pending investigations into allegations of drug trafficking and possession of cannabis guised as ‘cookies and sweets’
In a ruling rendered by JKIA court, senior principal magistrate Njeri Thuku averses that the application by the prosecution which sought to detain Mathe Wa Ngara for five days is merited.
The Court also directed that ‘Mathe wa Ngara’, who was arrested by police on Monday, around CBD, be escorted to the hospital for medication after her lawyer said she had been denied access to her medication.
An application filed in court by Sergeant Stephen Chesire seeking to detain Kigunzu indicates that during the time of operations which led to the arrest of three other suspects, she fled from police arrest.
Chesire said weighing and sampling of the alleged drugs was done in her absentia.
