KRA Announces Mass Online Auction at Mombasa port

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has kicked off an online auction to get rid of goods that have overstayed at the Port of Mombasa.

KRA welcomed members of the public to submit their bids on an online portal that will start today and end on Sunday August 20.

Some of the goods put up for auction include motor vehicles, household goods, spare parts, and construction materials among others.

“KRA is running an Online Auction to sell overstayed cargo at the Port of Mombasa. The Auction is running from Monday 14th August 2023 to Sunday 20th August 2023.

“To bid, login using your KRA iTax PIN and iTax Password,” KRA said on social media.

The authority, however, did not reveal if the participants were expected to pay a refundable fee before embarking on the auction process.

The auction follows a similar exercise carried out by KRA in December 2022 involving 548 vehicles alongside other items considered surplus and unserviceable.
