Kemsa temporary closes its Nairobi regional warehouses

The Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (Kemsa) has temporary closed its Nairobi Central and Regional warehouses

In a statement, Kemsa noted that this is to allow them to conduct their annual stock-taking.

It added that the closure will be effective from 3rd to 7th of July 2023.

However, their normal sales and warehouse operations will resume on 10th of July 2023.

“We wish to notify our esteemed customers and the general public that we shall close our Nairobi Central and Regional warehouses for the annual stock take,” the statement read.

Kemsa also noted that during this period all receipts and dispatches of medical supplies will be suspended.

“During this period, all receipts and dispatches of medical supplies will be suspended,” Kemsa said.

Only emergency cases shall be attended to by them.

KEMSA always takes an annual stock-audit break to allow the authority to take account of its inventory items.

The authority is tasked with procuring, warehousing, and distributing drugs and medical supplies for prescribed public health programs, the national strategic stock reserve, prescribed essential health packages, and national referral hospitals.
