Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has put on notice officers implicated in criminal acts, saying he is setting up a new policy to see them fired.
CS Kindiki says the government will cease from transfering the police officers to another region.
According to Kindiki, transferring the officers has been akin to transferring the problem to another locality.
Speaking as he conducted a visit to Isebania, Migori County to address security concerns, the Interior Cabinet Secretary Kindiki, has described as unfortunate, a case where five people were fatally injured at a the local police station saying the policy will be effected immediately
The clash between police and members of the public came after an outcry over a spate of insecurity in Isebania town, which resulted in the deaths of several business people.
Though the police accused the mob of storming the station, members of the public claimed that the police provoked them while transporting the body of a businessman killed by thugs in his shop in Isebania town last week.
Kindiki is currently holding a meeting with the Nyanza Region and Migori County Security and Intelligence Teams.
