The Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has withdrawn incitement charges against Korogocho MCA Absalom Odhiambo.

This is after the DPP through prosecution counsel Anderson Gikunda informed the court that they had received an apology letter from the MCA.

Haji further said that they have chosen to give the MCA a reconciliation chance.

“Your honour the DPP received an apology letter from the accused and he opted to drop the charges against him”, the prosecution told the court.

The MCA appeared before Milimani Chief Magistrate Lucas Onyina, who allowed the application to drop the charges and acquitted him.

The court further ordered that the MCA be refunded his cash bail.

MCA Odhiambo was 25th of  2023, accused of uttering inciting words that implied causing anarchy in the country at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Foundation offices at Capitol Hill.

The prosecution alleged that the MCA said, “Kwa siasa ya taifa tunataka tutoke kwenda ikulu tutoe huyu mwizi, nataka tuingie town tufunge biashara, hakuna biashara itaendelea hii town ya Nairobi, ndiyo William Ruto aheshimu Raila Odinga, lazima tufunge biashara hii town.”

He faced a second count of using threatening abusive words with the intent to provoke peace on the same day and place.
