The post mortem exercise of Shakahola bodies has entered phase II today following a five day break for logistical preparations.

The government is set to conduct an examination of the cause of deaths of 123 bodies that  have since been recovered in the vast 800 acres parcel of land in Kilifi Malindi county.

The exercise will be led by government pathologist Johansen Oduor who will ascertain the primary cause of the death of the children and adults who are suspected to have died due to a starvation cult inorder to meet God, indoctrinated by Good News international church pastor Paul Mackenzi.

Interior and national coordination cabinet secretary Kithure Kindiki has also announced the extensive search of graves to the Tsavo National Park with the help of drones and ground technical support including sniffer dogs.

The CS has said traces have indicated suspicious operation in the parks.

This comes in the back of a court order by the high Court has temporarily barring the commission of inquiry into the Shakahola tragedy from commencing its sittings until a case filed by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition is determined.

Justice Lawrence Mugambi told the commission not to start their sittings until he gives fresh directions.

Azimio through lawyer Paul Mwangi has protested the formation of the commission saying President William Ruto defied the constitution and usurped powers of other state organs.
