Samburu Police Recover 96 Guns as Top Administrator is sent home

96 guns have been recovered in Samburu County following a security operation to flush out bandits in the region.

Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki says he will ensure the “Maliza Uhalifu” operation is scaled up to recover livestock that are still reported to be missing even as the police detain 31 suspects

Kindiki has also sent home top security contingents in the area and are set to appear in court Monday.

Kindiki also presided over a peace Baraza at Longewan Centre to receive livestock that were recovered by security forces from bandits.

Samburu is among six counties in the North Rift that are currently under the dusk-to-dawn curfew.

Kindiki’s Samburu visit comes a day after he presided over the graduation ceremony of 200 National Police Reservists (NPRs) in Baringo’s Kimalel Grounds.

Commenting on the newly trained NPR officers, Kindiki said that they will be deployed to complement the efforts of the multi-agency security operation team in Baringo North and Baringo South Constituencies.


CS Kindiki also added his voice into the periodic sacking of top govt officials, the professor further  warning financiers of the banditry and cattle rustling of imminent arrests.
