Bipartisan Team Forms A 6-Member party to advice on IEBC Commissioners recruitment

The 14-member bipartisan team  has constituted a 6 member sub-committee that will look into issues around the formation of other IEBC commissioners.

The 14 member team has named 3 kenya kwanza lawmakers and 3 Azimio La Umoja members that will report to the parent committee with recommendations on the composition of the electoral commission.

The Parliament-led group that agreed on a hybrid form of engagement has named Azimio senators  Nairob’s Edwin Sifuna, Kitui’s Enoch Wambua & Suba North MP Millie Odhiambo, and will team up with Kenya kwanza Senators Hillary Sigei of Bomet, his counterpart from Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale and Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse.

The 14-member team that has since completed two joint secretaries who are non-lawmakers said the 6-member party will discuss proposals on the nomination of panelists to oversee the recruitment of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) commissioners.
