Argentina will play either France or Morocco in the FIFA world cup final on Sunday.
This is after Argentina Captain Lionel Messi and their number nine Julien Alvarez conspired to beat Croatia 3-0 in the first semifinal.
Messi converted a controversial penalty kick after 34 minutes following Croatia goalkeeper Dominik Livakovic’s foul on Alvarez.
Alvarez doubled Argentina’s lead five minutes later when he took Messi’s header just inside Croatian territory to fire home .
Messi took Croatia’s excellent defender Josko Gvardiol head on at the byline before playing in Alvarez for the finish and wrap the win .
Messi now gets one last chance to win the greatest trophy in the football after it eluded him in 2014 against Germany.
