President makes Key appointments to state departments

President William Ruto has made key appointments to several major dockets in the state. Lt. General RTD Joseph Kiptoo has been appointed the chairperson of the Kenya Meat Commission.

The gazette notice today adds Kiptoo will serve for 3 years. Last month, Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi said the KDF will continue managing KMC facilities across the country.

This comes amidst the meat processor grappling with unreliable supply of raw materials leading to operations that are below capacity.

Separately, the head of state has named Anthony Ng’ang’a Mwaura the new KRA chairperson, marking an end to Francis Muthaura’s helm.

Former Taita Taveta governor John Mruttu has also been named the chairperson of the Agricultural Finance Corporation.

Halima Yussuf Mucheke who will serve as the chairperson of the Tourism Regulatory Authority and Hamisi Mwaguya as the chair of the Kenya Maritime Authority.
