Kenya’s Parliament has elected the nine persons to represent Kenya in the East African Legislative Assembly EALA.
The nine will be Kennedy Kalonzo, Winnie Odinga , Kanini Kega and Suleiman Shakbal from the Azimio camp.
The Kenya Kwanza side will include former nominated MP David Sankok, former Mombasa senator Hassan Omar , Zippora Kering , Godffrey Maina and Iman Falhada.
Leader of majority in the national assembly Kimani Ichungw’a has congratulated the elected EALA MPs and asked them to champion the course of Kenya in the Arusha based assembly.
In a statement on Friday, ODM leader congratulated the Azimio representatives saying they will fulfil the EAC Azimio declaration.
“The Azimio declaration was made in Arusha by Mwalimu Julius Nyerere in 1976. We are proud that today, Azimio La Umoja One Kenya coalition is sending its brigade to Arusha to fulfill the East African Community Azimio Declaration. Congratulations!” He said.
Kennedy bagged 262 votes followed by Winnie who garnered 247 votes, Kega(197) and Shahbal(181).
