It was another good day for Kenya athletics in the marathon as Amos Kipruto won the London marathon .
Kipruto then won the men’s race in two hours, four minutes and 39 seconds after pushing away from the rest of the field with about five kilometres to go.

Kipruto’s win comes just a week after Eliud Kipchoge lowered the marathon record by 30 second in the Berlin marathon.
Ethiopia’s Leul Gebresilase was second, crossing the line 33 seconds later, with Bashir Abdi of Belgium completing the podium.
Ethiopia’s Yalemzerf Yehualaw won women race in two hours, 17 minutes and 26 seconds .
Kenya’s Joyciline Jepkosgei was second finishing in 2:18:07, after coming short of defending the title she won last year.
