45 governors have been sworn in different events around the country .
In Nairobi at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre KICC ,Johnson Sakaja was sworn in as the fourth governor of the capital .
Speaking after taking the oath of office, Sakaja promised to diligently discharge his duties without fear, favor or ill-will.
He emerged winner with 699,392 votes against his main rival of Jubilee – Polycarp Igathe who got 573,518 votes in the Nairobi gubernatorial election.
President-elect William Ruto who was also present at the ceremony congratulated all women leaders elected governors in the recently concluded 9th of August General Election.
The Deputy President termed the move as a major milestone in the country’s leadership.
He also assured all governors of the national government’s commitment to effectively work with the county governments.
The Ethics and anti corruption commission EACC also included the signing of the integrity codes in the presence of Judicial Officers.
The move EACC says is part of preventing corruption in the incoming governors and the deputies .
