Kenya eyes more medlas in oregon despite men’s marathon dissapointment

Kenya will be looking to bag more medals in the ongoing world athletics championship in Oregon .

Faith Chepngetich and Winny Chebet will fly Kenyan’s flag in the women 1500 meters final on Tuesday morning.

In the 3000 meters steeplechase Conseslus Kipruto will lead two other Kenyans Abraham Kibiwott and Leonard Kipkemoi in the final.

They will be up against a strong challenge of Morrocan Soufiane El Bekali and Ethiopia’s  Lamecha Girma .

The two have the best times for the season running under eight minutes. On Sunday evening Kenya’s Stanley Mburu grabbed silver medal in the men’s’ 10,000m final after coming second to Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei.

The silvers mean Kenya now has two silvers and a bronze and sit 10th on the medal table. USA currently leads the medal table with six gold four silver and four bronze medals.

Ethiopia is second with two gold and one silver.
