Nakuru Town East Member of Parliament David Gikaria was today grilled by Nakuru DCI officers in relation to the killings in Mawanga area – Nakuru County.

Detectives arrested him over his alleged association with the gangs responsible for the killings in the last two weeks.

The summons come after a security meeting between members of the public, leaders, and security personnel on Monday.

Locals blamed unnamed politicians for funding and protecting the gangs.

Five women were murdered with 27 people having been arrested, as detectives warn the remaining thugs to surrender.

This comes after Nakuru Commissioner Erastus Mbui noted that a multi-agency security team has scaled up the search.

Police are also probing whether the gangs are linked to cults since they are reported to only attack and kill women.

In the latest incident reported last Friday, Diana Tasha Opich who was 25 years was killed and her household goods stolen.

Residents say her body was found wrapped in a mattress apparently ready for burning, which was also done on the bodies of the other women.
