22,120,458 voters have been certified to participate in the August 9th general election.
Speaking to journalists and other stakeholders , IEBC chairperson Wafula Chebukati said the voters register will now be handed over to the two houses of parliament and also publish it on the Kenyan gazette for the public.
Chebukati further revealed that there will be 46,232 registered polling stations across the country.
He also encouraged the registered voters to confirm their details on the IEBC website and the SMS short code.
The commission CEO Marjan Hussein Marjan said the audit of the voter register revealed double registrations using both the ID and passport
Marjan confirmed that the 2022 general election register will this time not have a hard copy register to curb any cheating.
The audited voter register also indicates that the number of youth that are between 18-35 years old registered to vote, dropped by five percent bringing it to 39.84 percent.
The commission also assured that the 246,000 dead voters have been removed from the register in totality.
