Capwell Food Industries has donated a consignment of maize flour to support vulnerable families in Murang’a county.

The Food processing company donated 550 bales of maize flour worth 780, 000 shillings to the county government.

According to Governor Mwangi wa Iria, Murang’a locals have been struggling after their jobs and businesses were hampered by Covid-19 restrictions.

“Our people are hungry not because there is a drought but because of the slumped economy due to this virus,” noted the governor.

Capwell CEO Rajan Shash says through their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), they have been visiting different parts of the country and donating foodstuffs to cushion Kenyans.

“We have full-fledged CSR activities that we consistently carry out and we thought this was a time of need and we found it necessary to step forward and assist the affected families,” he said.

The company which is based in Nairobi is the processor of Amaize flour, Pearl Rice and Soko Unga, among other products.
