Locked out presidential aspirants condemn IEBC

Aspiring Presidential candidates who were not cleared by the IEBC on various grounds including; Safina’s Jimmy Wanjigi, Independent candidate Reuben Kigame and Thirdway Alliance’s Ekuru Aukot have castigated the IEBC for turning down their nomination.

According to Kigame, the IEBC has adopted selective enforcement of the election laws, in favor of its preferred candidates.

The renowned gospel musician has also accused IEBC of infringing on his rights as a person living with disability.

On his part, Safina presidential aspirant Jimi Wanjigi has termed the move by IEBC to bar contestants from the presidency unconstitutional.

Wanjigi adds that the voice of the people has been muffled, vowing to amplify it.

Elsewhere Thirdway alliance presidential aspirant Ekuru Aukot says IEBC’s decision to clear only 4 candidates is a move to bar alternative voices from leadership.

He has faulted the registrar of political parties alongside IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati for their disqualification, saying he will move to court to petition the integrity of IEBC commissioners.
