The Kenya Basketball federation secretary Ambrose Kisoi has announced that The 2022 Kenya Basketball Federation leagues are expected to commence on the 4th of June 2022
Kisoi added that teams have two weeks to do resource mobilization, noting that the new season should conclude by December fearing the risk of over spilling to the following year.
Ambrose says this season each category will have a maximum of 12 teams, but come next season will be reduced to 8 teams to increase the level of competition in the regular season.
The federation also found it best to change the name of the league from Kenya Basketball Premier league to Kenya National Basketball League.
He also concluded that the number of teams in the top division will be reduced from 12 to eight teams in the next season.
