CS Amina Mohammed Has Appointed 12-Member transition Committee

Sports CS Ambassador Amina Mohammed has appointed the Football Kenya Federation a transition Committee that is set to oversee football management and activities in the country for the the following weeks.

The appointed committee has maintained some members from the caretaker committee like retired judge Aaron Ringera who will serve as the chairman and former standard group journalist Lindah Oguttu retaining the role as head of the secretariat.

The committee succeeds the FKF Caretaker Committee whose six-month term has ended this week.

Kenya remains under indefinite FIFA suspension over government interference.

Giovanni Vincenzo Infantino, the current president of FIFA, made the ban statement during a press conference in Zurich where he issued a condition of reinstating the disbanded Football Kenya Federation and dissolving the Caretaker Committee for the suspension to be lifted.

“We had to suspend two of our member associations Kenya and Zimbabwe both for government interference in the activities of the football. These associations are suspended from all football activities with immediate effect and they know what need to be done for them to be re-admitted or the suspension to be lifted,” Infantino said.
