Form One students to report from 3rd May 2022

Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha says all 1, 225, 502   2021 KCPE candidates have found places in the 9,200 public schools.

Speaking during the unveiling of the outcome of the form one selection exercise at the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development in Nairobi, Magoha further said Bursaries and scholarships, should only be given to students in boarding schools who are less fortunate. 

He added that the government has 9000 scholarships, with 4000 of them going to needy students in the urban informal settlements. 

Magoha also asked parents to send an index number of the candidates  to 22263 to get secondary school joining instructions. 

Form one  students are expected to join the secondary schools starting 3rd of May 2022. 

The Education CS also warned head teachers in secondary schools from listing many requirements, before admitting the students into form one.

Some of the extra items that he termed as unnecessary for admission include , exercise book, hockey sticks, jembes and pangas  and mathematical sets .

38,797 candidates  have been admitted to national schools.2,045 have been admitted to the special needs category, and 214, 960 in the Extra County schools. 219, 456  will be in the County schools, 9,128 in the Refugees camps and  Sub- County  726, 311.

Nanyuki high school was once again the most chosen school by the candidates with 156,000 selecting it. 

The school can however only admit 400 students in the selection. Top student Bruce Makenzie who scored 428 marks will join Alliance high school.
