Amani National Congress (ANC) Gubernatorial candidate Charles Chweya Matoke has dropped his bid to support UDA candidate Ezekiel Mochogu Ombaki in Kisii County.

Speaking at the Deputy president residence in Karen, Chweya said he dropped his bid to deliver victory for the Kenya kwanza team.

“As Kenya Kwanza family, we are delighted to be here. Our resolve to work together and to hold my brother and my father honourable Mochogu, we will work together,” said Chweya.

Mochogu on his party vowed to lead the Kisii county Kenya Kwanza team to win the gubernatorial seat come the 9th of August.

“With my brother and sisters here and the members of parliament, we will come up with a formula and for sure we assure that we are going to deliver Kisii County to Kenya Kwanza,” noted Mochogu.

The DP appreciated the consensus between the two and encouraged others to embrace the move to avoid divisive nominations in the ballot.

“I take this opportunity to thank Charles Matoke for his gracious gesture and for agreeing to build the Kisii team, by ceding ground this time round, so that he can work on consolidating his base and building better networks for him to pursue his career in the near future,” said DP Ruto.

This comes after the UDA Party leader also held a similar meeting on Saturday, where two aspirants Munene Njiru and Kamau Murango, agreed voluntarily to enter into consensus to build a stronger UDA in Kirinyaga.
