The Ksh. 100 Million Paai Bridge has collapsed following heavy rains.

The Kajiado county government is counting loses after the collapse of its latest launched bridge.

The Ksh. 100 Million Paai Bridge has collapsed following heavy rains.

Kajiado governor Joseph Ole Lenku launched the bridge last week in a bid to promote security to the area residents.

Moreover, the bridge should have improved transport in the area, since the Orkeriai river often bursts its banks during rainy seasons.

Paai bridge was a connector between two marram roads, and connected 3 wards Matapato North Kajiado (Central), Mbirikani/Eselenkei (Kajiado South) and Kenyawa Poka ward in Kajiado East sub-county.

Residents only say they woke up to a bridge curved inwards.

Additionally, they said hospitals, markets, schools, national and county governments offices at Maashuru, Loitoktok and Kajiado town were inaccessible.
