South Africa’s President, tests positive for Covid-19

South Africa’s presidency announces that their president, Cyril Ramaphosa is Covid-19 positive.

This comes after attending the state memorial service of South Africa’s last apartheid President FW De Klerk in Cape Town.

Currently, those in c on tact with Mr. Ramaphosa are under instruction to quarantine or submit for a Covid-19 test.

Though the president has undergone full vaccination, he is now under quarantine and receiving treatment.

Meanwhile, all state duties are under the Deputy President, David Mabuza.

This comes as South Africa is under tight watch for notoriously hosting the Covid-19 Omicron variant.
