Kenyans in the UK have begun in person Jamhuri Day celebrations in London today.
The celebrations were fast tracked 3 days ahead, since the National Day falls on a Sunday, 12 December 2021 and was led by Kenya’s High Commissioner to the UK Manoah Esipisu.
The event celebrated Cultural Diplomacy as one of the pillars of Kenya’s foreign policy.
Speaking during the event, ambassador Manoah lauded developments between Kenya and the UK including the lifting of travel restrictions deployed by the host government to slow down spread of COVID-19.
He also said Strong diplomatic relations between Kenya & UK have seen more interactions between President Kenyatta and Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
