Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu now says all doctors from Kitui county whose salaries were withheld twill receive their dues in full .Speaking at her summoning at the labour and employment courts in Milimani, Ngilu said the county will pay salaries of all doctors including those who took study leave and were replaced.
The medical practitioners had gone without salaries for four months following a disagreement with the county. Ngilu had earlier last month appeared before Justice Monica Mbaru
together the service board secretary, Health CEC and Health chief officer, in the wake of the matter.
“We are ready to enter into talks with the doctors and more so those who took study leave. Their positions were filled because we need doctors to treat our people,” said Ngilu.
The lawyer avers doctors in the county have been going without salaries contrary to the provisions of the law.
