Ford Kenya’s, Majimbo kalasinga wins in Kabuchai mini-poll

March,05, 2021 Ford Kenya’s Majimbo Kalasinga has won the Kabuchai constituency by-election.

“From the results which we were able to tabulate, I want to declare Simuyu Joseph Majimbo Kalasinga as the member of the national assembly elect for Kabuchai constituency.” Announced Constituency returning officer Benson Esuza.

“Our total number of registered voters was 57,654. Votes cast translates to 29, 798, translating to a turn-out of 51 percent. ” The RO added.

He becomes MP-Elect after garnering 19,274 votes with his closest rival Evans Kakai of UDA coming in second after garnering 6,445 votes.

Matara thanked voters for overwhelmingly supporting saying, “I will work closely with all my competitors. A big thanks to my party.”

“People of Kabuchai have spoken. I thank Ford Kenya officials who devoted al the time to work for me” Kalasinga Masinga said in his victory speech.

“We are conscious about this issue and we are conscious that (losing) will not be allowed to happen. If I lose a seat in my own home, certainly it will be a blot on my political career and political image.” Wetangula has acknowledged.

In other wins of by-elections held on Thursday, UDA candidate Antony Nzuki, will be the next London ward rep after earning 1,707 votes. Malachi matara is the new Kisii county, Kiamokama ward MCA with 1,907 votes.

In the Kitise-Kithuki ward by election in Makueni, Sebastian Muli of Wiper won with 3,892 votes. Lucy Ngendo won the Uasin Gishu, Huruma ward MCA seat after winning with 2,498 votes.

Jubilee Party candidate Virginiah Wamaitha has won the Hell’s Gate MCA seat in Naivasha after garnering 3,955 votes.
