Paul Koech and Jackline Maranga shine in National cross country championship

Feb 13 2021, Paul Koech and Jackline Maranga are the senior men and women Kenya national cross-country champions.

Koech was victorious in  the 12-kilometer senior men’s race clocking 35:56.60.

Kibiwott Kandie was second in 31:05.05 seconds as Edwin Bett took third place in 31 mins 10.9 seconds.

Maranga put in a magnificent run coming home in 27:57.00 in the wet conditions at the Ngong racecourse.

 Daisy Cherotich second in 35:00:09 seconds. Ruth Chepngetich was third in 35 :02:.07

In the eight KMs junior men race, Richard Limo won it in 24:12.52 and Agnes Kiprop was the national six-kilometre junior women champion, in a time of  20:51.00.

The Kenyan team will now come together as they look to the camp training probably in Embu to sharpen ahead of the championship that will be staged in  Marrakech, Morocco on March 21 and 22.

Kenyan is the defending champion for the overall l team title for a record 13th consecutive year.
